Episode #62 - We're in Castropignano, Italy making Italian Cream Puffs with special guest Carmela Santangelo. This is a very popular desert in Italy. I have been waiting years to get this recipe on video. It's my favorite desert and it's so easy to make and I came to find out that it is very low in sugar. There is only one person that makes cream puffs to perfection and it is our close Italian family friend Carmela Santangelo. She is born and raised in Molise, Italy and she got this recipe from her mother. Carmela made these cream puffs for her husband when they first met and he fell in love with them and asked her to marry him after eating just one of her cream puffs. The pastry puffs comes out perfectly fluffy and light and the cream filling is delicious. Watch to get the step by step instructions so you can make this for your your man or family and friends. One important ingredient that she adds is cooking with your heart. So, be sure when you make this you do it with all your heart. Enjoy!



Ingredients:

- 1 Cup of Water

- ½ Cup of Vegetable Oil (preferably Sunflower Oil)

- 1 Cup of Flour (preferably sifted)

- 8 Eggs

- 2 Cups of Whole Milk

- 5 to 6 Tablespoon of Sugar

- 1 lemon peel

- 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract


• Pre-heat oven to 425 Degress

• Cook the Puff Pastry at 425 Degrees for 15 minutes then turn down the temperature to 400 Degrees for another 15 minutes.
